Meet the founders

MASON WOLF

My name is Mason Wolf, and I am from Ocean Township, New Jersey. I grew up in Jersey

Shore, where I spent my time playing baseball, competitively swimming, surfing, and enjoying

the beach with friends and family.

I attended Christian Brothers Academy, where I competed in swimming and played baseball.

After graduating, I continued my athletic and academic career at Monmouth University, playing

Division I baseball while earning my Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in

Marketing.

Following four years at Monmouth, I transferred to New Jersey Institute of Technology, where I

completed my final season of Division I baseball while pursuing and earning my Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing and Entrepreneurship.

During my final collegiate season, I earned First Team All-Conference and First Team All-Academic honors, and set the NJIT baseball program’s single-season batting average record with a .400 average.

I am super excited for this journey and to give back to the community that made me who I am today!

ANDREW SCHMID

What’s going on, everyone! My name is Andrew Schmid, and I am one of the co-founders of Local Ties. I have spent my whole life in Monmouth County, as I grew up in Fair Haven, NJ, and went to college at Monmouth University!

I am a proud graduate of Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School, where I played both hockey and baseball. I currently volunteer to coach both programs, and I love giving back to both programs since they played a pivotal role in shaping me to be the man I am today.

Following high school, I was a Captain for the Monmouth University baseball team just down the

road. While at school, I was more than just a student-athlete. I was president of the Monmouth Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, which looked to give back to the community that graciously supported us on the field! I am still at school as I am pursuing my MBA at Monmouth as well.

When I am not at a rink or a baseball field, you can find me on the beach. The Jersey Shore has always played an instrumental part in my life. My favorite days are spent hanging out on the beach with my family and friends!

I love my home and feel as if it has shaped me to be who I am today. The family and friends I have developed at Monmouth as well as Fair Haven are my favorite ties to home, and I am so grateful to have them in my life.

Thank you for following our story. We appreciate you more than you know!

RYAN DUFFY

Hi! My name is Ryan Duffy, and I am from Brick Township, New Jersey. I grew up in the 732 in a gold-star military family, and have spent my entire life here.

I graduated from high school in 2021 and pursued my college education up the road at Monmouth University, where I would build connections and play baseball, where I made friendships that would last a lifetime.

Whether it's my small circle from home or the friends I made at MU, we are all glad to call the Jersey Shore home.

I am super excited to spread the sense of hometown pride regardless of where home is, and can't wait to see where this leads.
